Islamic Phrases

Ameen in Arabic

Ameen

O Allah, accept our prayer.

Meaning

Ameen is a word said at the end of a prayer, and scholars explain it as "O Allah, answer" or "let it be so". It is said aloud or silently after Al-Fatihah in the prayer, and by listeners when someone makes a dua. It is not a verse of the Quran, and it is not written in the Quran's text.

When to say it: Said after a prayer or supplication, and after Surah Al-Fatihah in prayer.

Also spelled Amin, Aameen, Amen, Ameen ya Rabbal Alamin, Aamiin.
