Meaning
Rabbana means "our Lord", atina means "give us", fid-dunya hasanatan means "good in this world", wa fil-akhirati hasanatan means "and good in the Hereafter", and qina 'adhaban-nar means "protect us from the punishment of the Fire". It is from Surah Al-Baqarah. Anas reported that this was the dua the Prophet made most often. It appears in the Quran at 2:201.
When to say it: Said as a dua at any time, often at the end of prayer, during tawaf between the Yemeni corner and the Black Stone, and to close other duas.
Also spelled Rabbana atina fid dunya hasanah, Rabbana aatina fiddunya hasanatan, Rabbana atina fi dunya hasanatan wa fil akhirati hasanatan waqina azaban naar, Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanatan.
Said on Laylatul Qadr.
