Islamic Phrases

Wa Iyyakum in Arabic

Wa Iyyakum

And to you as well.

Meaning

Wa means "and" and iyyakum means "you" (as the object), so it returns the du'a: and may Allah reward you too. It is a custom reply, not a fixed wording from the Prophet. Use iyyak for a man, iyyaki for a woman and iyyakum for a group.

When to say it: The common reply to JazakAllah Khair.

Also spelled Wa iyyak, Wa iyyaki, Wa iyyakum, Wa iyak, Wa iyyakum.
