Meaning
Rabbish-rah li sadri means "my Lord, open my chest", that is, give me calm and confidence, yassir li amri means "make my task easy", wahlul 'uqdatan min lisani means "untie the knot from my tongue", and yafqahu qawli means "so they understand my speech". It is the dua of the prophet Musa in Surah Ta-Ha, made when Allah sent him to speak to Pharaoh. It is not only for exams, but because it asks for calm, ease and clear words, Muslims commonly say it before tests and public speaking. It appears in the Quran at 20:25-28.
When to say it: Said before exams, interviews, presentations and any hard task or difficult conversation.
Also spelled Rabbi shrah li sadri, Rabbishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri, Rabbi ishrah li sadri, Dua for exams, Dua before studying.
