Dua After Eating in Arabic

Alhamdulillahil-ladhi At'amani Hadha wa Razaqanihi min Ghayri Hawlin Minni wa la Quwwah

All praise is for Allah who fed me this and provided it for me without any power or strength of my own.

Meaning

Alhamdulillah means "all praise is for Allah", alladhi at'amani hadha means "who fed me this", wa razaqanihi means "and provided it for me", and min ghayri hawlin minni wa la quwwah means "without any power or strength from me". A well-known hadith says that whoever says this after eating has his past sins forgiven. Before eating, Muslims say Bismillah.

When to say it: Said after finishing a meal or a drink.

Also spelled Alhamdulillahillazi at'amani haza wa razaqanihi, Alhamdulillahilladhi atamani hadha, Dua after meal, Dua after food.

Common questions

What do you say before eating?

Say Bismillah. If you forget at the start, say "Bismillahi awwalahu wa akhirahu" (in the name of Allah at its beginning and its end) when you remember.

Is saying Alhamdulillah after eating enough?

Saying Alhamdulillah on its own is also a way to thank Allah after a meal. The longer dua above is the wording the Prophet taught.
