Meaning
Rabbi means "my Lord", irhamhuma means "have mercy on them both", kama rabbayani means "as they raised me", and saghira means "when I was small". It comes from Surah Al-Isra, where Allah tells believers to be good to their parents, to lower to them the wing of humility out of mercy, and to say this dua. It can be said for parents who are living or who have died. It appears in the Quran at 17:24.
When to say it: Said for your mother and father, whether they are alive or have passed away, especially after prayer.
Also spelled Rabbirhamhuma kama rabbayani saghira, Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera, Dua for parents, Dua for mother and father.
