Common questions

Why is this called the dua of Arafah?

A hadith says the best dua is the dua of the Day of Arafah, and that the best words the Prophet and the prophets before him said are these. It praises Allah rather than asking for something, and pilgrims and others repeat it through the day.

How many times should it be said?

No number is fixed for the Day of Arafah. A separate hadith gives a great reward for saying it 100 times in a day.
